“Samantha?”
The room continued to be filled with the vacuum-like silence.
“Sammie, I need to hear your voice! Are you there? Please… say something!” Her voice was now thick with desperation.  Cassie rolled on her back, but winced in pain as her wrists cracked under the weight, so she rolled back on her side.  She tried to listen for any movement from her best friend. But Cassie couldn’t hear anything. She couldn’t tell where Samantha was. She felt like she was all alone again.  
“Did you just call me creepy?” Cassie stopped breathing and her heart skipped a beat. She knew that voice. Sam was in the room. She moved her head around, trying to sense where he was but she could not tell.
“I think I was very nice to you, dear Cassandra. I was pleasant and gave you the envelope,” now she could feel him getting closer, “I even left you alone, gave you the opportunity to follow the instructions but you chose not to. That was stupid, Cassandra.  So now here we are.” The tension in his voice rising. She could feel him come up behind her and his fingers lightly touch her naked skin.
“Samantha!” Cassie screamed. But all she got in return was a loud cackling laughter from Sam.
