An excerpt from Winds of Change - the upcoming sequel to Sands of Time

Sarah couldn’t sleep.

She looked at the clock, 3:02am.  She had drifted off to sleep for about a half an hour but had been lying in bed staring at the ceiling for hours now.  That Scott Key was on her mind.  Who was this guy and how did he know her?  And more importantly why was he bothering her?

Sarah got up and went to the study.  She stopped at the yellow tape sealing the door.  Looking from top to bottom she decided she didn’t really care.  With a turn of the knob and a shove she pushed the door open breaking the police tape with a small crackle.  Slowly she made her way behind the desk and noticed the blood stain on the oriental throw rug in the middle of the study.  It made her pause for a moment remembering the busy-bodied real estate agent.  Sarah sat down in the chair and opened the lid of the laptop and stared blankly at the stain as the computer booted up.  A pleasant female voice came from the laptop, “Please Log In,” she requested.  Sarah ran her fingerprint over the sensor.
“Thank You, Sarah” the voice responded and the computer began loading her desktop.  Sarah quickly loaded Internet Explorer and brought up Google.  She typed “Scott Key” and clicked the search button.  The page quickly loaded with 10,829 hits.  She quickly scanned them and realized that there were too many hits for her to go through and she needed to limit the results somehow, be more specific with her search criteria.  But, what did she know about this guy?  Nothing really… he just showed up out of nowhere claiming to “know what happened” at the house.  She thought about it for a second, what did that really mean?  She had assumed that he had heard about Rose on a police scanner or something and he was just some opportunistic lawyer looking for a rich client to make some money.  But she had been thinking about him all night and going over it again and again.  Besides the fact the she was a little bit attracted to him, what if he were here for something else… what if he knew about Jonathon.  What if he saw what happened that night.  Impossible, she decided.  She had made sure no one had seen where they parked and that the car wasn’t followed.  There were very few people who knew about that spot and not many who could even get access to that area.  Jonathon had made sure it was a very secure area, how else could he have had so many whores throughout their marriage.  It took her years to figure it all out: what he was doing, where he was doing it and who he was doing it to. She supposed it was really easier to figure out who he didn’t do it to.

Sands of Time is currently available via all major outlets including Amazon.Com, Borders, Barnes & Noble and Smashwords.Com.
