Here is a snippet from the book:
The scrawny
boy approached her. She tried to ignore him but apparently failed miserably
because here he was standing in front of her.
”Hey,” he
offered with a sly smile.
“Hey
back.”
That was all
Cassie had to say to him. Finding Samantha was more important than this twirp.
But the boy wasn’t taking the hint that she was busy and didn’t want to be
bothered with him.
“My name is
Sam and I have something…”
She cut him
off, “Seriously? Sam? That’s your name? OK, do I look busy to you? Because I
am, so get lost.” Her tone was
nasty.
Sam’s
expression changed to a salacious look as his eyes went from her cute white
cheerleader sneakers to the bare, lightly tanned legs and stopped for a long
moment at her red and white pleated skirt. She stared in shock while the waste
of oxygen actually licked his lips as his gaze went from her flat slightly
exposed stomach to her smallish yet firm breasts. He didn’t even stop staring
when she crossed her arms to cover herself. When she shifted her weight and
added the look of death his smile went to devilish.
“Now that I
have your complete attention, dear Cassie. I was saying that I have something
you might be interested in.” He
began to reach into his jacket when she scoffed audibly.
“Oh, please
you fucking loser, “ her cheerleader attitude in full swing now, “there is nothing you
have nor anything you could possibly get that I would want. And don’t ever let me hear
you say my name again or I’ll have the football team use you as a tackling
dummy.”
His
expression didn’t change. He just continued to smile and leer at her like she
was a side of beef.
“When you
are done looking at my boobs…”
This time it was Sam who cut Cassie off.
“Shut up you
pompous bitch.” He reached over,
grabbed a handful of her blonde ponytail and pulled her close to him. Cassie yelped in pain just before he
growled in her ear, “you want to see what I have.” He pushed a sealed manila envelope into her chest
and pushed her away from him.
“Wh.. What
is this?” She stammered as she
stumbled away, rubbing her head with a look of shock and fear on her face.
“Like I
said, something you might be interested in.”
She stared
at Sam for a second then, after she was sure there was a safe distance between
them she looked down at the envelope.
In red marker someone had written on the front, Count to ten then open me.
“What am I…”
Cassie looked up and Sam was gone, “supposed to do…”
